In the early morning opening game of the Kitchener arm of the USA Canada Cup, the K-W Rangers outshot NAHA 27 - 21, taking home a 1-0 win. Despite good scoring chances at each end, Brooklyn Cole of the K-W Rangers scored the lone goal of the game midway through the second period. Assists went to Sarah Rettinger and Megan Fergusson. Cohen Myers earned the shut out for the Rangers, stopping all 21 shots that she faced.
In what ended as a game fraught with 40 minutes of penalties, seven Rangers players got in on the scoring for a strong 4-1 win. K-W took an early lead on an unassisted goal by Jocelyn Ballantyne. Less than a minute later, the Rangers extended their lead to 3-0 on two quick power play goals, only 10 seconds apart. Sarah Rettinger, unassisted, found the net first, followed immediately by Lexi Templeman with help from Megan Johnson and Katelyn Magoffin. A second period goal by Rangers Kelsey Dixon, assisted by Brooke DiCicco rounded out scoring for the Rangers. Despite outshooting the Rangers 34 to 16, Belle Tire managed only one of their own late in the first period, as Rangers Mikalya Schnarr stopped 33 of the 34 shots she faced to take the win.
